Remembering

james 'Hollywood' badger

RIP

James "Hollywood" Badger, the drummer for James Buddy Rogers' band, was a pivotal figure in Rogers' musical journey. The two met back in 1985 when Rogers was only 9 years old, and Badger was his drum teacher. Although Rogers switched to guitar at age 11, they maintained their connection, often sharing the same stage. After Rogers left the Russell Jackson band in 2000, they began playing together regularly. More than just bandmates, Badger and Rogers were like family, with their deep bond and musical chemistry driving the band's dynamic performances.

Sadly, Badger passed away on November 2, 2020. May he rest in peace. In his memory, donations to any epilepsy organization are greatly appreciated.

Jason Buie, a remarkable guitarist and singer, first crossed paths with James Buddy Rogers in 1995 in Terrace, BC. At that time, Rogers was performing with Russell Jackson, while Buie was engaged in a rock gig. Their musical chemistry was evident when Buie joined Rogers on stage with the Jackson band for a jam session. This initial collaboration sparked an instant friendship, and they spent that week-long gig in Terrace hanging out nearly every minute they weren't performing at night.

Their bond only grew stronger over the years, with Buie and Rogers sharing countless stages across BC and Alberta. Whether they were playing in intimate clubs or at larger festivals, their performances were marked by a synergy that captivated audiences. Their relationship was akin to that of brothers, complete with the occasional disagreements and periods of not speaking, but always grounded in a deep mutual respect and affection.

Buie's influence extended beyond his musical talent; his charismatic presence and genuine personality left a lasting impact on those who knew him. Tragically, Jason Buie passed away on March 22, 2018, leaving a void in the hearts of many. He is survived by his three children: Sophie, Etta, and Jackson, who carry forward his legacy.

Buie's life and music continue to be celebrated by friends, family, and fans who remember him as a true artist and beloved friend.
